- 03/07/08 It is with regret that we must advise you that Swimscene,
who have supplied club equipment for the past couple of years, have
closed. The Committee will make a decision about a future supplier
imminently and we will keep you informed. If you have any outstanding
issues or questions then please direct them to any member of the Committee.
- 30/06/08 Results from the Bournemouth Junior Open
Meet in May now on available on TMO.
- 29/06/08 June Ribbon Gala results and pictures of
the medal winners now available in the Gallery.
- 25/06/08 A team of A Squad swimmers were once again
invited to compete against teams from Army Swimming to assist in their
preparation for the Inter Services Championships which take place
on Monday 7th July. Teams from Farnham and Rushmoor Royals were also
invited to compete. Perhaps not surprisingly, our top swimmers were
too strong for the competition winning 21 of the 25 events and finishing
2nd in the other four events.

- 20/06/08 Results from the ASA SE Region Youth Championships,
and the No Frills Open Meet are anow available on TMO. Sorry for the

- 18/06/08 Please note that all places have been taken
for the warm weather training camp in February 2009.
- 18/06/08 Congratulations to all those that competed
at the ASA SE Region BAGCAT Championships where a number of personal
best times and medals have been won by BWSC members. Special mention
must go to Steven King for not only 9 gold medals and 3 silver medals
but also for breaking region records and winning the 14 years boy
BAGCAT award. Gold medals were also won by Ewan Laing, Alannah Fillingham
and Annabel Humphreys.
- 30/05/08 On Tuesday evening, Nigel Willis, the Club's
newly appointed Chief Coach, will make a presentation about his vision
for the future of BWSC. It will take place in the Hospitality Suite
(the room at the top of the spral stairs in the cafe) starting at
7.30 prompt and last for approximately 40 minutes. Space will be limited,
so all parents are welcome to attend but no swimmers please.
- 28/05/08 Congratulations to the 5 swimmers from
our club who have been selected for the South East Regional Camps
this summer. Attending the Breaststroke Camp on 1st June are Andrew
Willis, Jamie Shields and Tom Hill and the Backstroke Camp on 8th
June, Kathryn Willis and Chris Rowley. Selection was based on their
performance at the Olympic Trials & Youth South East Regional
Championships.

- 11/05/08 Congratulations to our swimmers who took
part in the National Speedo League B Final at Ponds Forge this weekend.
There were many outstanding swims with 4 first places and the team
finished in 8th place overall with 259 points. Full results are available
on the Speedo League website here.
- 17/04/07 For those of you that have not tried it
yet, I have made a list of questions
and answers about our webshop. I have also designed a poster
for you to print off and display on a noticeboard at your work, school
or club. Please make use of the shop as it is for everyone's benefit.
- 09/04/08 Following a selection process, we are pleased
to announce that Nigel Willis has now been formally appointed as Chief
Coach. This represents a new era in the history of Bracknell &
Wokingham Swimming Club as our previous Chief Coach, Rosa Gallop was
appointed 24 years ago. The Management Committee would like to thank
Nigel for agreeing to take on the role of Caretaker Chief Coach for
the past 6 months and wish him every success in the future
- 08/03/08 Congratulations on some excellent results
to all our swimmers who took part in the British Championships at
Ponds Forge this weekend. Special congratulations to Kathryn Willis
for achieving first place in the final of the 200m Backstoke event
with a time of 2:16.13 to set a new club record by over 2 seconds
last set by Sharon Davies in 1990. Results now avaialble on Team Manager
and a full report will follow shortly.
