Job Description: Treasurer

The Treasurer will set and control of the club’s finances as agreed by the Management Committee. He/she will manage the day-to-day provision of funds to cover the costs of the club, including all overheads and capital expenditure.

The main tasks of the treasurer therefore are:

  • To provide monthly and year to date accounts at the Management Committee meetings.
  • To provide funds, normally a cheque countersigned by another club officer or account signatory to parties involved in the supply of coaching or training services to the club.
  • To manage the club accounts and the management of the audit process as required by club rules and professional accountancy advice.
  • To provide year-end accounts with the presentation and adoption of the accounts at the AGM.
  • To plan and present of the club budgets for the following year with the on club fees to the Management Committee.
  • To highlight and recommend to the Management Committee any financial contingency required covering any variance to the club financial plan.
  • To chair the finance subcommittee and the production of minutes and actions to the Management Committee.
