These are galas where we enter a team to compete against other clubs. For each event, points are awarded according to the finishing order. e.g. In a six lane pool, the first swimmer scores six points, the second five, third four, fourth three, fifth two and the sixth swimmer scoring one point. The total points for each club are added up with a trophy usually being awarded to the top club. Age ranges for these galas vary, but all swimmers must be nine years or older on December 31st. Team managers pick the teams for these competitions with assistance form the coaches. There are no entry fees involved.
Each year we invite clubs to compete in the following galas which we host. For the first time, this year some of our home galas will be using the 50m pool at Aldershot.
3M Diddy Gala
Junior "A" grade gala for ages 9, U11, U12 and U13 held at Bracknell in October. All individual are events over 50m with relays over 4 by 25m.
Architects Cup
"B/C" grade gala, held in April at Aldershot.
Cliffords Trophy
Another "B/C" grade gala for ages U11, U13, U15 and Open held at Aldershot in June. All individual are events over 100m, except U12 Butterfly which is over 50m. Relays are held over 4 by 50m.
Hodges Cup
"B/C" grade gala for ages U12, U14, U16 and Open held at Aldershot in June. All individual events are over 100m, except U12 Butterfly which is over 50m. Relays are held over 4 by 50m.
