BWSC Shop Portal News

As you may know our website has a portal, through which you can gain access to online shops, like Amazon, HMV, Game, Asda, Tesco and many more. You can access this by clicking on the Shop button above.

By using this portal BWSC receive a contribution for any purchases you make. The size of the contribution and any restrictions on qualifying for a contribution are listed for each online shop. There are no hidden costs using the portal. You pay exactly the same price as if you had gone directly to the online shop site.

Very few of our members appear to be using this feature. There are an average of only 15 clicks on the portal each month and we make very little money from it so I have been looking at how we can make better use of it.

From time to time the shops have special promotions which can be viewed by clicking on the newsletters tab at the top of the page. Some of these promotions offer voucher codes giving you special discounts such as free post and packaging or additional funding for the club like the Sky offer below. If you would like to have these offers sent to you via email, send a blank email to shopnews-subscribe@bwsc.org.uk or click here. There are usually about 4 promotions each month. We will not pass your email address to any other organisations and you can unsubscribe at any time by sending a blank email to shopnews-unsubscribe@bwsc.org.uk or by clicking on the link at the bottom of each email.

Here are some ways to make the best use of the shop portal:

  1. Remember to use it whenever you are considering making an online purchase.
  2. Some products will be available in more than one shop. Shop around for the lowest price and the highest commission.
  3. Regularly check for the latest offers by subscribing to the newsletters.
  4. If you know someone who might be interested in one of the offers, forward the email to them or click on the Forward this newsletter link on the newsletter web page.

After I forwarded the Sky offer below to the Management Committee last month, someone actually took it up and earned us £100 commission in one transaction! That is significantly more that the £44.01 we have made since the scheme started in January last year.

If you have any concerns or questions about the shop, please send an email to me at shopmanager@bwsc.org.uk.

Happy shopping and remember every purchase helps the club!
