3 Bracknell swimmers cross the channel
Although this not a club sponsored event anyone is able to donate to this worthy cause via the link.

Kevin Mitchell, Chris Brook & Alex Burrell received a phone call Thursday morning at 5am asking them to be in Dover for 11. Everyone met up in Dover and the pilot took them in his boat round to Samphire Hoe. Kevin swam the first 1 hour leg, leaving the Hoe at just before 12 noon. Alex did the next leg and Chris the third. They alternated like this until Kevin reached the French shore at just before 9:40 pm. The swim took 9 hours and 38 minutes.

The weather was very good, with the sea being calm for the most part and very clear, only a few patches of seaweed and one area with jelly fish. It was a little choppy in the shipping channels and Chris did meet a few large waves which were the wake from a very large container ship that had passed some time before.
