Bracknell & Wokingham swimmer, Jim Sanderson competed in the Gibraltar ASA/Argus Insurance endurance swim in July. This competition attracted a quality field of swimmers swimming from Eastern Beach to Catalan Bay, Gibraltar, which was a distance of 1800 Yards. The eventual winner Colin Bensadon, Gibraltar’s leading swimmer was caught up by Jim in the latter stage of the event. Jim pushed him all the way to the finish coming in second place by only three seconds. Both swimmers broke the Gibraltar record for this event. Jim recorded a very respectable time of 15 minutes and 16 seconds and in doing so won the junior title. Well Done Jim.
