On Saturday 5th March a team of our junior swimmers travelled to Amersham to take part in the third and final round of the Thames Valley Junior League. This was the B final with Bracknell & Wokingham up against teams from Amersham (B), Chalfont, Slough & Eton and Wycombe.
The first race was won in style by BWSC and set the tone for the evening. This example was followed throughout the gala with many great individual swims and a number of PBs.
As the gala progressed Bracknell forged steadily ahead and by the mid-point led by 12 points. Chalfont and Wycombe kept the pressure on though, reducing the gap, and there was still everything to swim for with the final set of relays remaining. The gala finished as it had started with some excellent relay performances and a fantastic BWSC win in a very close and exciting squadron relay.
A nerve-wracking wait for the final scores ensued and resulted in Bracknell & Wokingham winning by just 6 points. The team collected the trophy which they had returned at the start of the evening, having won the previous TVJL B final. We werent letting it go that easily!
It was a great evening and the win was thoroughly deserved. Well done to all the swimmers who have taken part in the Thames Valley Junior League this year
