Andrew Willis
In what was a very close and exciting 200m final, Andrew narrowly missed out on a bronze medal by 0.05 sec. Andrew finished fourth behind Christian Sprenger, the 200m world record holder. Earlier in the day, Andrew had qualified third fastest and was drawn in lane 3 in the final, with Brenton Rickard, 100m world record holder, outside him in lane 2. Rickard started very quickly and by the half-way turn had a clear lead. But over the final 50m, a chasing pack, which included Andrew, just failed to catch Rickard. 200m Breaststroke Result:
Andrew made a fantastic start to the Commonwealth Games, narrowly missing out on a place in the 100m Breaststroke final, with a time of 1.01.84. | |||||||||||||||
